On every year 14-15 march  phool dei celebrated in Uttarakhand, India, is a vibrant harvest festival that welcomes the spring season.On the first day of the Hindu month of Chaitra, childrens also called name  "PHULARI" to this day.

In this day childerns collect flowers and make the baskets 🧺 full of flowers and some rice which is called "TUPRI"' in local language. 

Childerns wake up early in the morning with full of excitement and get ready for this festival. They make their groups and go to the door of everyone's house place flowers(signifies the happiness) and some rice ( signifies the prosperity)on the doorstep with singing a traditional song phool dei Chamma dei. 


Phool Dei is celebrated in Uttarakhand for several reasons:

•Welcoming Spring: It is celebrated as a harvest festival to welcome spring season in the state.

•Gratitude to Nature: It is a folk festival to express gratitude to nature.

•Prosperity: Children put flowers on the doorstep of houses while singing to bring prosperity  and happiness to the homes.

•Legend: The celebration has origins in the legend of king Goga Jeet and his daughter Goga, on the advice of the goddess Kal Devi.

•Cultural Preservation: The festival provides an opportunity to connect with folk songs, beliefs, and traditions, and inspires people to stay connected to their culture.

•Timing: It is celebrated when the snow melts from the mountains and the hills are adorned with red flowers, marking a time of overall happiness for the entire region.
